X: Origami Fountains

Today we are celebrating Ruth Asawa’s birthday, also know as the “Fountain Lady”.

These fountains created by Ruth Asawa look like origami flowers.

The origami fountains were installed in 1975, but drought forced them out of commission. By the time the dry spells ended, the fountains were corroded and deteriorating, and they were removed in 1995. The fountains were restored and brought back to new life in 1999.

Where are they located?
