THIS apartment building in Vienna was designed by Otto Wagner at the turn of the 20th century in the Art Nouveau style. In Vienna, this style was referred to as the Secession.
ITS facade is entirely covered with majolica, or glazed earthenware tiles in the colorful floral designs which characterized the early Vienna Secession. The Art Nouveau floral design of its facade was made by Wagner’s student Alois Ludwig.
